Bears, illustrated is an independent illustration project, a yearly download-and-print calendar featuring twelve unpublished works from international artists homaging the men they love. It's all about beauty and desire outside of the norm, and the value of sharing it free of censorship, sponsorship or currency. This eighth edition explores, questions and expands what a "bear" can be and the blurred lines of masculinity, queerness, eroticism and inclusion. Each illustrator has created a brand new piece for the B,I collection to celebrate a new year of life, sex and art.

This 2022 subversive pinup calendar comes in Spanish, English, French, Tagalo (Filipino) and Italian, the five languages spoken by this years collaborators from: Barcelona, Brittany, Bologna, Santiago de Chile, Paysandú, Ciudad de Mexico, Liverpool, Veracruz, Tucumán, Marikina and Lyon. Find out more about them and the story behind each of their original artworks below.

B,I is a non-profit initiative. We don't make or ask any money for this, so if you like someone's work please follow their links and consider supporting their platforms and merch. You can also help by spreading the word about the project so it can reach others (what we love is important). B,I is also on Instagram via #Bearsillustrated, Facebook and Twitter (where explicit content is allowed). Check out each artist and their thoughts here:

Bears, illustrated has been curated, designed, translated and coded since 2010 by Christian Fernández Mirón. It's become a tradition to celebrate every January 1st and wouldn’t be possible without the wonderful artists that have collaborated so far. For their generosity and beautiful work, thank you! Browse through all past editions: eight years (with a few pauses) have given way to 96 brand new works by artists from all over the world! Stay tuned for the next edition and maybe, after the tenth... a book to collect them all?
